We invite you to join the Women's Caucus for Art!.

The Women's Caucus for Art was founded in 1972 in connection with the College Art Association (CAA). It is a national member organization unique in its multi-disciplinary, multicultural membership of artists, art historians, students, educators, and museum professionals.
WCA is committed to:

  • education about the contributions of women

  • opportunities for the exhibition of women's work

  • publication of women's writing about art

  • inclusion of women in the history of art

  • professional equity for all

  • respect for all individuals without discrimination

  • support for legislation relevant to our goals.

As an NGO of the United Nations, the Women's Caucus for Art supports the UN Millennium Goals:
1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equity and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
7. Ensure environmental sustainability

As a founding member of the Feminist Art Project, WCA is part of a collaborative national initiative celebrating the Feminist Art Movement and the aesthetic, intellectual and political impact of women on the visual arts, art history, and art practice, past and present.

The project is a strategic intervention against the ongoing erasure of women from the cultural record. It promotes diverse feminist art events, education and publications through its website and online calendar and facilitates networking and regional program development throughout the U.S.

In addition, the WCA offers it's members benefits on both the local and national levels.
